In 2009 I found Pinnacle Fitness on a Google search for bootcamps close to Decatur. I did not want the 7 days/week, push ups in the mud, running outside in 30 degree weather but knew I needed something more. Though I was a avid tennis player and have a fairly good metabolism, I had never lifted a weight or done a burpee. David was patient and encouraging. Eventually, I got better at running and the other exercises. I also started to notice that my body changed- I got leaner and had muscles in places I didnt know you could get them.
About 2 years ago- enter pregnancy. I continued bootcamp until I was about 4 months pregnant. I kept saying I would stop going, but its hard to give up something that you know is benefiting your body. I ended up gaining 60 pounds during pregnancy- carbs were my friend and I retained a lot of water. I was scared to come back but I knew it was the only way I could get back to pre-pregnancy weight. Once I got the go ahead after my c-section I came back in January. The first few weeks were very, very hard. I was tired, my workout clothes were tight and I was slow. But the familiar faces, camaraderie and encouragement made it so much easier. In February, Pinnacle sponsored their first annual “Biggest Loser Weight-Loss Challenge”. It was the final jump start I needed to lose the baby weight. Five months later I was able to feel good in a bathing suit. I continue to get compliments that people are shocked that I had a baby 18 months ago. I know it’s only because of the workouts at Pinnacle, pre and post baby. Getting out of bed and running the 1-mile loop are still hard for me but every workout is different. David always keeps it fun and I have seen results. What more can you ask for?
